You can make a difference
in a young person’s life,
and the community they live in!

GET INVOLVED!

Volunteering is richly rewarding.

Volunteers need not have any previous mentoring experience but a positive attitude towards young people and education is a must.
A wide range of exciting mentoring roles are available, all of which are well supported by the VME team and include free training and resources.

The VME, INLLEN and project partners are committed to ensuring child safety and wellbeing. Strict adherence to the INLLEN Child Safe Code of Conduct is expected of all VME volunteers.

    Mentoring Matters – School-based Mentoring

This secondary school-based vocational mentoring program is for Year 11/12 students undertaking the senior applied learning program, the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM).

The VME MM program typically runs for a term and involves 10 weekly 1-2 hour mentoring sessions with a group of up to 3 mentees. Mentors draw from their life and work experience to help guide in-class discussions and activities that include soft skills, workplace expectations, job search and interview practice. Guest presenters and industry excursions round out this exciting program.

20-30 hours in April – July OR July – September. Ideally suiting those with a trades, HR or other professional background.
